The Sutherland Sharks are thrilled to announce the return of former Sharks guard Mel Andriejunas for the 2024 NBL1 East Season.

Mel, a veteran guard with over 10 seasons experience in the WNBL, ABA / Waratah League and various other competitions will return to the elite stage after a break from playing. Her return will add a huge amount of experience and depth to the Sharks women’s team in 2024.

Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said “Mel is a fantastic addition to our team. She has played basketball at the elite level consistently throughout her career and she brings a wealth of experience, energy and game knowledge that is priceless. I’m proud that Mel has chosen to come back to basketball again after her time away from the game and I’m excited to see her enter that elite NBL1 arena and showcase the type of player and teammate she is”.

As the women’s senior programs go from strength to strength, Mel and the NBL1 squad are hungry to secure their first NBL1 Championship for the Sharks beginning with round 1 on Saturday 6th April 2024 at the Shark Tank.
