It is with great sadness that the Sutherland Basketball Association announces that Patrick Williamson has decided to step down from his role as the Head Coach of our NBL1 Men’s team to focus on his current High Performance and Development role he holds with the club.

We would like to take the opportunity to thank and acknowledge the amazing work Patrick has done in our senior men’s program over the last five years, most notably becoming a championship winning NBL1 head coach in 2023.

Patrick will focus heavily on the club’s junior high performance, academy, representative and coach education programs and will play a significant role in the club’s future direction for junior basketball.

Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said “We need to take a minute to acknowledge what Pat has done in his time as a head coach in our senior program. He is a Championship Winner, he has coached in Waratah finals and he has played a pivotal role in establishing young players into our senior teams. I have seen so much growth in Pat both as a coach and as a person and I know the decision he has made will only benefit our junior basketballers who are going to get one of the best high-performance coaches in the business leading them into the future.”

The Sutherland Sharks will now take the time to evaluate all our senior Waratah and NBL1 coaching positions over the offseason and will make our coaching announcements for 2025 in due course.
