AGE GROUPS
Our junior competitions are age-governed. Ages are based on the year of birth, not the age a child turns during the competition
Our 2024/25 programs are as follows:
U9 – Born 2016/17 (Term 4 only program)
U11 – Born 2014/15 (Term 4 only program)
U12 – Born 2014/15
U13 – Born 2012 (and after)
U14 – Born 2012/13
U16 – Born 2010/11
U18 – Born 2008/09

GAME TIMES
- Games are usually played between the following time slots | 4pm, 450pm, 540pm, 630pm and 720pm
- Game times will vary from competition to competition depending on the number of teams in each
- You should expect that you will play at a different time each week
- Mini Ball and U13 Mixed are played on a Saturday from 1030am
PLAYER RESPONSIBILITIES
- As basketball is a team sport it is an expectation that you will be committed to your team for the duration of the competition
- A player has to have played 66% of competition games in his team to be eligible to play in the final series
PARENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Please ensure that registration fees and competition fees are paid on time. Notify the team contact or SDBA if your child is sick or away (eg: school excursion or family holiday) and cannot play a particular game /games
TEAM RESPONSIBILITIES
All junior teams must have a competent adult present at all games and all duties. All junior Boys and Girls teams will be required to supply a duty person on their own games – one person from each team. It would be advisable for team managers to arrange a roster at the beginning of the season to ensure each family meets their responsibility

Note: 55 and Over Men’s competition is NEW in Summer 24/25. It is dependent on numbers. A minimum of 4 teams is required
Our premier senior competition, the Herbs Of Gold Super League will continue into Summer 2024/25
Commencing Tuesday October 7th 2024, teams will compete in the Men’s and Women’s division for $3000 Cash.
3 Referees are provided for each game
Nominations are now open and will close Friday 27th September at 5pm.

TERMS & CONDITIONS:
- 2 x 18 Min halves fully timed.
- A maximum of 4 NBL1 players are allowed per team entry.
- A $500 team nomination deposit is required upon entry – Nonrefundable.
- All teams MUST have matching uniforms – teams that present with uniforms that do not match will automatically forfeit their match.
- The winning prize money of $3000 AUD will be deposited to the nominated team manager at the completion of the super league season.
- Forfeit Fine is $120
- All fees due by Week 6
- 2 unexplained or unjustified forfeits a team will be disqualified from the competition
The Super League competition falls under the SDBA competition by laws and competition rules

TEAM NOMINATION STEPS:
- A team manager will log into their online account https://sutherlandbasketball.com.au/members/member#/login
- Click on Team Nominations on the dashboard.
- Copy the existing team across to the new winter competition if they are the same, OR you can add/delete players to the team.
- Complete the remaining prompts.
- Enter payment details for the $75.00 team nomination fee (**The Menai competition does not have a nomination fee)
NEW PLAYER REGISTRATION:

COMPETITION GAME FEES
Competition game fees are per team, excluding mini-ball which is per player. All competition fees are payable by week 6. Each designated team manager will be provided with the competition invoice. Players are responsible for paying their portion online via the members portal. Game Fees exclude semi-finals. A one-off fee of $80 per team applies for semi-finals. Grand Finals do not incur a cost

Note: The team nomination fee is paid separately to the total game fees (Excluding Super League. This team nomination fee is part of the game fees). No over-the-counter game fees can be accepted. Active Kids vouchers can be used for competition fees
CLUB FEES
Note: Club team players will be charged a club fee by their respective clubs (eg: Jannali, Bosco)
WITHDRAWAL FEE
A $250 Withdrawal Fee will apply if you remove your team after the commencement of the competition. Please email competitions@sutherlandbasketball.net.au to advise of your withdrawal (extenuating circumstances may be considered for exemption)
PLAYER REGISTRATION
Registration is for 12 months and covers membership and insurance costs. All players must be registered before playing their first game. Registration is paid online via the members portal. Each player is responsible for being aware of their registration status. If you require any assistance please see the front desk.

Note: Active Kids vouchers can be used for registration fees. All NEW players to mini-ball (u9 to U11) will be charged a $20 registration fee. In subsequent years they will be charged the applicable age fee

Duty Requirements for Senior Competitions:
Senior teams are responsible for attending duty. This will be listed on the draw. On your scheduled duty game, one of your team members may be required to referee. Please advise in your team nomination if you have any players who are accredited referees
Herbs of Gold Super League will have Referees and bench officials supplied.
