The Sutherland Sharks are thrilled to announce that club legend and local Junior Lauren Nicholson will return to the court for the NBL1 East Sharks women’s team this weekend.

Nicholson, fresh off the back of signing a 2-year deal with the Sydney Flames, will make her return to the basketball court this weekend after giving birth to son Ari in the off-season. Lauren’s first match in the Sharks uniform will be on Sunday, 29th June vs the Sydney Comets at Alexandria Basketball Stadium.

Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said “I think this is a wonderful achievement by Lauren to make it back onto the court this season, and I think her journey over the last 12 months is something we as a club should be extremely proud of. Sutherland is a family club, and seeing Lauren with her own family now is something special. I look forward to seeing Lauren in a Sharks uniform and watching the Sharks faithful come out and support such an amazing athlete.”

Lauren and the Sharks NBL1 women’s team will travel to the Central Coast on Saturday to take on the Crusaders and will return to Sydney on Sunday to take on the Sydney Comets.
