The Sutherland Sharks are thrilled to announce the re-signing of local forward Emily Garland for the 2026 NBL1 East Season.
Emily, a regular in the NBL1 women’s lineup, will be one of the key pieces to new head coach Michael Turton’s plans for 2026. A talented wing, Emily has spent considerable time perfecting her craft through not only the Sharks system but also the BNSW state and Emerging Flames programs. Emily will look to put her skills to good use as part of a high-powered offensive unit assembling for the Sharks in 2026.
Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said “Emily is an athlete who has come into 2026 motivated. She is immersed within our club through coaching our junior development programs and junior rep programs, and you can see through the way she is training, that Emily is primed for a huge year! It’s always exciting to see local juniors build their legacy at the elite level, and I have no doubt Emily will be a huge contributor to the success of the NBL1 women in 26.”
Catch Emily and the rest of the Sharks Men’s and Women’s teams as they battle the Sydney Comets on opening night at the Shark Tank, Saturday, 28th March. Women are at 5pm & Men are at 7pm.
