The Sutherland District Basketball Association are thrilled to announce the return of Melinda Andriejunas for the 2026 NBL1 East season.
Andriejunas, an experienced all-round competitor and a juggernaut on the defensive end, is a key piece in the lineup for the NBL1 women as they combine high-scoring offence with relentless defensive pressure. Following a 2025 campaign marred by injury, Mel will be eager to hit the floor and provide head coach Michael Turton with her trademark defensive intensity and leadership.
Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said, “I think it’s fair to say that Mel Andriejunas is by far one of the greatest human beings we have in our club. She is a leader on and off the court and is an absolute professional in everything she does. She is an amazing teammate and I’m ecstatic that Mel is back on board with us in 2026.”
Mel and the rest of the Sharks Men’s and Women’s teams will battle the Sydney Comets on the opening night of the 2026 NBL1 East regular season at the Shark Tank, Saturday, 28th March. Women are at 5 pm & Men at 7 pm.
