The Sutherland District Basketball Association are thrilled to announce that club great Jacki Piper will return to the basketball court in 2026 with the Sharks NBL1 women’s team.
Jacki, an experienced all-round competitor who has previously represented the Sharks at a junior and senior level, will return to competitive play in 2026. Jacki, a versatile shooting guard, brings a wealth of experience and leadership to coach Michael Turton’s side as the team continues to prepare for the upcoming NBL1 East season.
Jacki, the older sister of Flames, and club superstar Lauren Nicholson and daughter to Sharks Life Member Jo Nicholson, will once again pull on the black and blue Jersey of the Sharks as the next chapter of her basketball career begins at the Shark Tank.
Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said, “Jacki has worked extremely hard to get herself into a position to play the NBL1. I think it’s a testament to her character and who she is as a teammate. Seeing Jacki back playing is going to be amazing, not just for her but for our club as well.”
Jacki and the Sharks Women’s team will battle the Sydney Comets on opening night of the 2026 NBL1 East regular season at the Shark Tank Saturday, 28th March, Women 5pm & Men 7pm.
