The Sutherland District Basketball Association would like to sincerely thank NBL1 Men’s head coach Shaun Roger, who has informed the club that he will not be seeking a renewal of his coaching contract in 2027 to focus on his NBL commitments with the Sydney Kings and to prepare for the arrival of his firstborn in early 2027.

Over the past 2 seasons, Shaun has been the cornerstone of the Sharks Men’s NBL1 program, guiding the team to a top 4 finish in 2026 and most recently, a Grand Final appearance in 2027.

Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said, “When we gave Shaun the keys to the Men’s team, we knew we were getting a coach who would represent the club, players, partners and the community the right way. Shaun is a true professional who was able to lift the profile of NBL1 basketball here in the Sutherland Shire. I want to thank Shaun for being a part of our club and for giving generous amounts of time to our program. I want to wish Shaun all the best for an exciting future ahead, and we hope to see him and his partner Rachel around the club in the future.”

An announcement on the coaching appointments for the 2027 NBL1 Men & NBL1 Women’s teams will be provided in early October.
