The Sutherland District Basketball Association is thrilled to announce the re- signing of Sharks Junior and captain of the NBL1 East Men’s team Lochlan Hutchison for the 2026 Season.
Hutchison returns to the Sharks for a fifth consecutive NBL1 season and will be keen to add another NBL1 East title to his collection.
After a huge 2025 NBL1 East season, which saw Hutchison contribute 15 points, 6 assists, and 2 steals per game in a dominant season, 2026 has no ceiling for a point guard of Hutch’s calibre. Boasting NBL experience the East is on notice for Hutch to showcase once again his elite play-making and defensive skills.
Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said “Hutch is a Shark through and through. He has been with this club his entire life and is showcasing that he is one of the premier guards in the league and is worthy of playing higher levels in the NBL. He is a guy who has NBL experience, and he is bringing that experience and leadership back into our program. He has built his game on consistency. I know that falling one game short in 2025 is something that motivates him, and I can’t wait to see what 2026 looks like for Hutch.”
Lochlan and the rest of the Sharks Men’s team will battle the Sydney Comets on the opening night of the 2026 NBL1 East regular season at the Shark Tank Saturday, 28th March, Women 5pm & Men 7pm.
