The Sutherland District Basketball Association are thrilled to announce the return of local junior and crowd favorite Maddy Norris for the 2026 NBL1 East season.
Norris will enter NBL1 26 fresh off the back of a WNBL season with the Sydney Flames. A proud Sutherland junior, Norris will look to build on a huge 12 months which has seen her rise into the WNBL. Norris, a fan favorite in the Shark Tank, will step out as a key piece in head coach Michael Turton’s re-vamped offensive unit which boasts several players with international and WNBL experience.
Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said “Maddy is without a doubt in the best form of her career. She is one of the best perimeter shooters in the entire NBL1. She is a local Sharks junior and has been a pillar of consistency for our senior women’s team since we entered the NBL1 in 2022. Maddy is an outstanding club person who represents the Sharks with such a high level of professionalism. I am thrilled to once again have Maddy with us in 26.”
Norris and the rest of the Sharks Women’s team are preparing for the upcoming NBL1 campaign, starting with a match-up with the Sydney Comets on opening night Saturday, 28th March at the Shark Tank. NBL1 Women are at 5pm & Men are at 7pm.
