The Sutherland Sharks are thrilled to announce the addition of Sharks Junior Hayli Carter to the NBL1 Women for the 2026 NBL1 season.

Hayli, a versatile small forward/shooting guard has been elevated into the Sharks women’s squad and will proudly follow in her parents’ footsteps and represent the Sharks at the highest level. Dad BJ and Mum Amy captained the Sharks Men’s and Women’s senior teams respectively in the early 2000s and will watch on proudly as Hayli makes her mark in the famous black and blue jersey.

Hayli will juggle double duties in 2026, combining the U23 youth women as well as the NBL1 with the upcoming season, marking the arrival of a new era of young Sharks in the senior program.

Sharks General Manager Adrian Dark said “This is an awesome story. This is when you get to see household names continue. Hayli is a fantastic basketballer, and she gets her opportunity to write her own story and represent our club at the highest level. I was there years ago when Mum and Dad graced the courts, and I can’t wait to see Hayli play in 2026. I think it will be a huge year for her.”

Hayli and the Sharks Women’s team will battle the Sydney Comets on opening night of the 2026 NBL1 East regular season at the Shark Tank Saturday, 28th March, Women 5pm & Men 7pm.
